Gealach Astrology

My name is Niamh and I am the astrologer behind Gealach Astrology. I am a visual artist, writer, and Hellenistic astrologer living and working in Belfast. I’m from Dublin originally but my restless Gemini Moon in the 4th House meant I always had home (where I am now) and home home (where my family are). As I age this restless moon expresses louder and louder through me so I called my practice Gealach which means Moon in Irish (Gaeilge).

I first saw my birth chart at age 13 in the quest to understand my Capricorn Sun – this placement and my birth chart at the time made zero sense to me and so I put it down thinking I would never return. But return I did in 2018 while studying my Fine Art Masters I found the Astrology Podcast and dove deeply into the world of Hellenistic Astrology.

I tentatively picked up my birthchart again and the journey of self discovery deepened. This logos of the cosmos is deeply connecting to the more than human heavens. The symbols sing through every day life and the beauty of this song continues to move and fascinate me. There is a continuous magic at work and it gives me a thrill to recognise which planetary wanderer is speaking. Astrology speaks to the joyous buoyant times, the deeper darker times and all those meh moments in between. Sometimes its loud sometimes its lousy, often hilariously literal and sometimes its barely there.
